Jenna Fischer was best known for portraying Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on TV. Her role on The Office earned her an Emmy nomination for Most Outstanding Supporting Actress category. In addition, she won two SAG Awards, both for outstanding performances by an ensemble cast in a comedy.
Her family was based in St. Louis Missouri. Jenna was impressed by her mother's worship services as she began her career.
Following the conclusion of The Office, Fischer, a theater-trained actress returned to her roots. In Off-Broadway's play Reasons to be Happy composed by Neil LaBute with Josh Hamilton and Leslie Bibb as co-stars, Fischer was the lead. In the following play, she was in Steve Martin's new show Meteor Shower. It was an absurd comedy piece starring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg and ran for record-breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
The Office star Angela Kinsey's best friend in real life and Fischer began with the Office Ladies podcast, on Earwolf, in October of 2019. The podcast quickly was a hit. Each week it ranked among the Top Ten in global downloads which topped 200 million downloaded in the first couple years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
The Actor's Life is her first novel, and chronicles the road she took to get from St. Louis, Missouri to Hollywood which is where she discovered her calling as a professional actress. Her second, Office BFF's (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) is a memoir of her best friend and their experience working in The Office.
